Lina Hallab began painting during the stillness of the Covid years — a pause that opened a door she had always sensed was there, but had never walked through.

She is drawn to beauty and quiet moments. The soft ones — a breeze, a word of kindness, a fleeting presence that leaves something behind. How light falls in a still room. The particular quality of air between two people. These are the moments her paintings try to hold.

Her work is a sustained investigation into solitude, intimacy, and the quiet grammar of inhabited space — exploring how a body, or its absence, charges a room. How presence lingers. How a moment, once felt, is held within and transformed through time.

Each painting is a slow act of attention — a way of becoming present to what is ordinarily too brief to catch, too quiet to name, but meaningful enough to carry.
